Bangladesh Opener Liton Das Back in Squad For Asia Cup Super 4 Stage

Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh opener Liton Das returns to the squad for the Asia Cup Super 4 stage. Bangladesh welcomes back Liton Das for the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023 after the opening batsman recovered from viral fever.

Das was Barrying From Joining The Team in Sri Lanka:-

Liton was preventing from joining the team for the opening match of the tournament in Sri Lanka due to illness.

But after the clearance certificate from the medical team, the wicketkeeper-batsman will now join the team for the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj, who replaced Das, scored a memorable century:-

Bangladesh had sealed their qualification for the stage with a thumping 89-run win over Afghanistan on Sunday, in which Mehdi Hasan Miraj, who replaced Das at the top of the order, scored a memorable century.

The Tigers lost their opening match against Sri Lanka but after a win over Afghanistan, they sealed their place in the Super 4 stage.

“There are some injury concerns in the Asia Cup squad and the team management feeling the need for an extra player to go into the Super Four,” said Minhajul Abedin, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board selection panel.

BCB Medical Team’s Approval Will Be Receiving:-

“We have got the BCB medical team’s clearance regarding Liton’s health and have decided to send him to Pakistan.”

It will be interesting to see how Bangladesh arrange their batting line-up after Das’ return.

Mehdi and Mohammad Naeem opening the batting against Afghanistan. After Tanzid Hasan was dismissing for a duck in the opening game.

Najmul Hossain Shanto has also been among the run-scorers at number 3 in Afghanistan with a century.

If Das returns to the top order, Mehdi may be sending back to the order where he usually bats.
