Hardik Pandya: As an all-rounder, my workload is double or three times that of anyone else

“As an all-rounder, my workload is double or three times that of anyone else,” Hardik Pandya told Star Sports. When a batsman in the team goes and bats and finishes his batting and is going home. I will bowl after that too. So for me, all the management, all the pressure, and everything happens during the session or my training or my pre-camp season.”

I have always believed that I give myself a chance to succeed – Hardik

He further said “When the game comes, it is more about what the team needs. The management side hits it out of the park, and it is a more practical decision of how many overs are required for me. Because if 10 overs are not needed, there is no point in me bowling 10 overs, but if 10 overs are needed, I will bowl. I’ve always believed that I give myself a chance to be successful, which is by studying the game, which is by supporting myself because I’ve always believed that when we go in as a believer, when I’m out there I stand up. Yes, my ten players, my ten brothers are around me, but at the moment I am alone.”

Said this about playing as an all-rounder

“I have to back myself completely while bowling because the opposition are batsmen, they want me to make mistakes. At the same time as a batsman, yes there are two people batting, he is fighting with me, but there are also eleven on the field. The field against me and at the same time it could be the crowd or anything.”

He further added, “So what I have realized is that no matter what happens, you have to support yourself, you have to believe that you are the best in the world. It does not guarantee you success, but at the same time, it also gives you guidance to work towards success, so support yourself practically.”
