Former Indian cricket team player Sanjay Manjrekar has drawn some similarities between star cricketer Virat Kohli and former legend Sachin Tendulkar. Actually, Virat Kohli has completed his 47th ODI century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 and has come close to surpassing Virat-Sachin in terms of scoring the most centuries in ODIs. Team India has to play a home series of three ODI matches against Australia before the World Cup 2023, which is no less than completing the preparations for the World Cup.

Kohli and Sachin both want to remain on the field
Sanjay Manjrekar told journalist Vimal Kumar “One similarity between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar is that they both love to play cricket. He wants to be on the field. He was not part of the squad for the game against Bangladesh but was still on the field. I don’t believe that Virat Kohli wants power or leadership.”
There is no scope for unfulfilled dreams for Kohli
“He just wants to play and looks like he is enjoying being part of the team. He captained the team for a very long time, so there is no scope for unfulfilled dreams. Being with the team, traveling with the players, going on the field, and being a part of the winning moments is more important to him than strength.”

Sachin Tendulkar has 51 centuries, 17 more than Sunil Gavaskar
Manjrekar further said, “Sachin Tendulkar has 51 centuries to his name, which is 17 more than Sunil Gavaskar. For a good player, scoring runs in ODIs is comparatively easy, as bowlers do not always try to take wickets. Tendulkar and Kohli are special because they also have a lot of Test centuries. “Although I believe it will be very difficult for Kohli to reach 51 Test centuries.”
