With the help of centuries from Virat Kohli (122) and KL Rahul (111), India set a huge target of 357 runs against arch-rival Pakistan in the Super-4 round of Asia Cup on Monday. The Indian team scored 356 runs after losing two wickets in 50 overs on the reserve day.

Kohli scored the 47th century of his career while Rahul scored the sixth century. Kohli scored his third century against Pakistan while Rahul scored his first ODI century.

Kohli-Rahul’s record in Asia Cup:-

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have made the record of the highest partnership for any wicket in the Asia Cup. Kohli and Rahul made a partnership of 233 runs. Both of them broke the record of Pakistan’s pair of Mohammad Hafeez and Nasir Jamshed. Hafeez-Jamshed had made a partnership of 224 runs against India in the 2012 Asia Cup.

The pair of former Pakistani batsmen Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan is at third place in this list. Malik-Younis had made a partnership of 223 runs against Hong Kong in 2004. Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed had made a partnership of 214 runs against Nepal in the ongoing Asia Cup and this pair is at fourth place in this list.

India’s pair of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane completes the top-5. Both of them had made a partnership of 213 runs against Bangladesh in the 2014 Asia Cup.

Virat Kohli has made another new record in his name. When the Indian team scored 350 or more runs in ODI, Virat Kohli became the Indian batsman with the most number of appearances. Virat Kohli was a part of the team on 21 occasions when India crossed the 350-run score mark in ODIs.

Kohli broke the record of former captain MS Dhoni. Dhoni was a part of the team on 20 occasions. AB de Villiers and Eoin Morgan are jointly at third place in this list. De Villiers and Morgan were involved in the team’s score of 350 or more runs 19 times.
