BBL 2022-23: Zak Crawley in a surprise move joined Hobart Hurricanes

BBL 2022-23: England Test opener Zak Crawley has joined the Hobart Hurricanes as an overseas replacement in a surprise move ahead of the 2022-23 season of the Big Bash League (BBL). Crawley will join the team in the month of January after England’s three-match Test series against Pakistan. The 24-year-old will be filling in for Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan. He will miss some matches due to international commitments.

During the Ashes, Crawley impressed many former cricketers including Ricky Ponting

Looking at his record in Australia, the opener will be confident of his chances. During the last Ashes in Australia, Crawley impressed many former cricketers including Ricky Ponting. They praised Crawley after the Sydney Test.

Crawley has an impressive record in T20Is and can use this opportunity to prove himself in the shortest format and get into the England T20I squad. Crawley has so far scored 1284 runs in 47 T20 matches at a strike rate of 145.08.

Crawley After signing for the Hurricanes ahead of the new BBL season. Crawley expressed how excited he is to join the team and looks forward to a successful summer in Australia.

English cricketer said after signing up for the franchise-

“I am really excited to be participating in the Big Bash for the first time. From afar, it looks like the storm appears to be brimming with talent. The list that the two have built for on-field success, but also the quality list of support staff that they have on it. I am looking forward to participating. In what I expect will be a very successful summer.”
