BBL 2023: Brisbane Heat Spinners Jonassen And Swepson Re-Signed On Two-Year Contracts

BBL 2023: Brisbane Heat spinners Jess Jonassen and Mitchell Swepson re-signed on two-year contracts. Australian pair Swepson and Jonassen are among the many contract announcements.

Headlines re-signed on a two-year contract:-

Jonassen and Mitchell have re-signed a two-year contract to headline a frenetic day of activity across the Big Bash competitions.

WBBL Heat captain Jonassen, who played a record 119 matches for the club, and Weber are the all-time leading wicket-taker (138) in the Women’s Big Bash League.

She will look to extend those records when her team makes its WBBL debut. 09 campaign against Melbourne Renegades on 20 October.

Will join forces with Australian tweaker Matthew Kuhnman:-

Swepson, who recently returned from playing English county cricket with Glamorgan, will join fellow Australian tweaker Matthew Kuhnman to provide the Heat with a strong domestic spin attack for the men’s tournament starting in December.

The 29-year-old has taken 58 wickets in 68 matches for the Heat and is the second-highest wicket-taker for the club behind fast bowler Mark Steketee (88).

Both Swepson and Jonassen will join a host of Heat stars taking part in the KFC T20 Max competition in Brisbane, which begins next week.

On the other side of the Sydney divide, veteran quick and two-time BBL champion Jackson Bird is back on deck.

who recently signed with his native NSW after more than a decade with Tasmania.

Earlier this week, 19-year-old leg-spinner Jade Allen also re-signed, with the Sixers set to make their WBBL debut against the Melbourne Stars on October 19 at the North Sydney Oval.
