Ekta’s Personal Life :-

She was the first international female cricketer from the state of Uttarakhand, India. She was also the first cricketer from India to take a hat-trick in a Women’s Twenty20 International.

Her father, Kundan Singh Bisht, retired from the Indian Army in 1988 in the rank of Havildar. Ekta Bisht has three elder siblings, Kaushal Bisht, Vineet Bisht and Shweta Bisht. She started playing cricket at the age of six.

She played games with boys, often attracting spectators as she was the only girl on the men’s team. Receiving a pension of only ₹1,500 (equivalent to ₹17,000 or US$230 in 2020).

Kundan Singh Bisht opened a tea shop in Almora to supplement the family income and allow for his daughter’s cricketing career. She was the captain of Kumaun University in the North Zone.

After Ekta was selecting for the national team in 2011. The financial condition of the family improving, and funding from sponsors started. After increasing their father’s army pension, the family was able to close the tea shop.

Her Awards

In November 2017, the Uttarakhand government decided to confer the Khel Ratna Award to bowler Ekta Bisht and the Dronacharya Award to her coach Liaquat Ali Khan.

Bisht’s Career :-

As of November 2018, he has 79 ODI wickets. And 50 T20I wickets at an average of 21.98 and 14.50 respectively. Bisht was also the joint second-highest wicket-taker in ODIs in 2017. With 29 wickets in 16 matches at an average of 17.27.

She is the fifth Indian woman to cross the 100-wicket mark with 129 international wickets. And is India’s fifth-highest wicket-taker in ODIs and third-highest wicket-taker in T20Is? He is also praising for his fielding skills by Sachin Tendulkar, who also happens to be his favorite cricketer.
