He made his first-class arrivals (Arthur Morris and Nari Contractor are the others) in a checkered career for Amir Malik, one of only three men to score centuries in both innings.
He scored an unbeaten 98 in seven hours in his second Test, scored back-to-back centuries against India in 1989–90, took a Test stumping as stand-in keeper (Richie Richardson).
Took a Test wicket (Australia’s Peter Taylor – batting at No. 2) and was recalled after a four-year absence to face Australia.
