Sourav Ganguly wanted to become a footballer :-

It may be noted that Saurabh Ganguly was born on 8 July 1972 in a Bengali family in Kolkata. His father was a member of the Bengal Cricket Association. Because of this, he had to come and go on the ground.

Sourav Ganguly loved football more than cricket and wanted to become a footballer. He played football till tenth standard. Because of his mischief, he was sent to the cricket ground and thus cricket entered his life.

Dada laid the foundation of the new Indian team :-

In the year 2000, when fixing was revealed in Indian cricket, the future of the team was going to be lost in the dark. Sachin Tendulkar refused to captain. Then Sourav Ganguly went ahead and took command of the team.

A new chapter of the Indian cricket team began under Dada’s captaincy. By defeating the opposing teams at their homes, the name of the Indian team was stung. Dada taught Dadagiri to the Indian team, due to which the team started playing fearlessly.
