2023 Cricket World Cup: Team India will again face Pakistan, for the first time the entire tournament will be held in India

As soon as 2023 starts, the countdown for the ODI World Cup has also started. The tournament matches are to be held in India in October-November. Although its schedule has not come yet. The matches of the tournament will be played in India for the fourth time, but this will be the first time when all the matches will be held in India only. The last time the tournament was played in England and Wales in 2019. Then the England team became the champion for the first time by defeating New Zealand.

Earlier in 1987, 1996 and 2011 also ODI World Cup has been held in India. But apart from India in 1987, Pakistan-Sri Lanka in 1996, while in 2011 ODI World Cup matches were held in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh apart from India. Team India last won the World Cup in 2011. India defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Pakistan will be face to face

Talking about the 2023 ODI World Cup, a total of 10 teams are participating in it. There will be no group like in 2019. All the teams will have to play against 9 groups and the top-4 teams will get a place in the semi-finals. In this way, once again in a big tournament like ICC, India and Pakistan will be face to face. Talk about 2019, Team India was eliminated after losing to New Zealand by 18 runs in the semi-finals.

A total of 7 teams have qualified for the World Cup so far. Apart from host India, it includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, Pakistan, England, and New Zealand. The ICC is organizing the World Cup Super League to qualify for the World Cup. A total of 13 teams have been included in this.
