Bangladesh bowled out New Zealand, which was probably the main driver of this Test victory. Ebadot Hossain took 6 for 46 in the second innings, with his second spell being delivered in the fourth evening and fifth in the morning.

A Break The Third Wicket Partnership :-

He broke the crucial third-wicket partnership between Will Young and Ross Taylor before picking up three wickets in seven balls. The next day, he removed Ross Taylor and Kyle Jamieson to complete the first five-for by a Bangladeshi pacer in eight years.

Bangladesh also had many actors in the game. Newcomer Mahmudul Hasan Joy was intense during his 228-ball 78. Captain Mominul Haque scored the pinnacle in the first innings and determined there were no hiccups in the chase.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and Liton Das played frankly after the initial misstep and showed that the young Bangladesh batsmen can change gears.

Mehdi Hasan Miraj was an unsung hero who bowled long spells and scored 47 crucial runs after batting very well in the top six. Yasir Ali, like Joy, was playing his second Test and made an important assist.

As Shoreful Islam bowls his first innings and catches Jamieson at midwicket in the second innings. Bangladesh dropped a total of four catches but we’re determined to catch at least the others.

New Zealand will have a few areas to worry about. His much-awaited sharp set did not attack the stumps as much as they wanted. It was a tough period for Tim Southee and Jamieson. Rachin Ravindra worked hard but it was clear that he missed out on Ajaz Patel’s integrity.

In terms of batting, the fall of both the innings is a matter of concern. Maybe they are missing Kane Williamson but the likes of Ross Taylor, Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls, and Devon Conway are a good combination in the batting line-up.

Hope to return to Christchurch from New Zealand. Apart from winning the first game, Bangladesh once again fell behind. The people of the house are really happy that they could beat such a great home team.

And more success may still be on the horizon, as Mominul Haq said, they can stick to what they do best and be productive about it.

The First Test Headlines :-

Will Young hit twin fifties in the first Test and was adept at scoring on either side of the wicket. If anyone is in search of New Zealand’s batting future this seems to be the answer.

Mominul Haque garnered praise from many senior figures in Bangladesh cricket for his tenacity during difficult times and for inspiring a young team to a phenomenal victory at Mount Maunganui.

Mominul’s collaboration with the bat was also important, top-scoring with 88, determining that he came out of tight spots and finished.

It Seems Unlikely :-

Even after the loss in the first Test, there was talk of resting either Southee or Trent Boult but still, it seems unlikely. They have Matt Henry in the team.
