Azizullah Fazli was on Sunday appointed as the working chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). His appointment came a week after the Taliban seized control over Kabul. And the collapse of the government with President Ashraf Ghani fleeing the country. One of the immediate challenges ahead of him will be to ensure the Afghanistan cricket team reaches safely to Sri Lanka. For their scheduled three-match ODI series against Pakistan, which is due to begin on September 3.

Replacement of Fazalhad :

Fazalhad was replaced after Afghanistan’s winless campaign in the 2019 World Cup.

He was associated with Afghanistan cricket for the last 20 years

He also served on the board as vice president and an advisor

Afghanistan to Play Pakistan in Three Match ODI Series in Sri Lanka :

Afghanistan will play Pakistan in a three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka from September 1 to September 5. With the resumption of commercial flights to and from Kabul’s international airport.
