Afghanistan’s Eight cricketers and three members of the support staff have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

Touring members who passed that test have started practice at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (February 15).

A 22-man Afghanistan team arrived in Dhaka on 12 February and moved to Sylhet the next day to attend a preparatory camp ahead of three ODIs, two T20Is.

The three cricketers later joined the touring squad after completing their stints in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Prominent Afghan stars Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi, who are currently participating in the Pakistan Super League, will feature in the squad ahead of the ODI series.

The Afghanistan team is scheduling to fly to Chattogram on February 19 to play. An ODI series begins on February 23. Both the teams will travel to Dhaka for two T20Is on March 3 and 5.
