BCCI, IPL 2024: The schedule for the first 15 days of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) has been unveiled on 23 February. This season is the 17th edition of IPL. Also, in the first match of this edition of IPL starting from March 22, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face defending champion MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.

Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the schedule of only the first 21 matches from non-cricketing regions.

BCCI: General elections may overlap with IPL 2024 dates :-

In fact, India’s general elections in 2024 may be seen overlapping with the dates of IPL. It is expected that the Election Commission will announce the voting dates across the country in mid-March. BCCI plans to wait for these dates before finalizing the rest of the IPL schedule.

BCCI has not taken such a step for the first time:-

Let us tell you that this is not the first time that BCCI has taken such a step. In 2019, general elections in India were held in seven phases, due to which the Board had to announce the schedule only for the initial two weeks.

That year, the BCCI had postponed the announcement of the remaining schedule until they could assess the potential impact of the elections on the conduct of IPL matches across the country. The entire IPL was ultimately played in India from 23 March to 12 May.
