Ajinkya Rahane will not play in county cricket, decided to take a break

Ajinkya Rahane, county cricket: Indian team batsman Ajinkya Rahane can take a break from cricket for a few days. After returning from the West Indies tour, Rahane has decided to spend time with the family. He wants to prepare himself for the South Africa series to be held at the end of the year.

Rahane can take a break in August-September :-

Ajinkya Rahane went to England after the IPL to play in the World Test Championship final and was also a part of the Indian team on the West Indies tour earlier this month. The club said his earlier schedule did not include these commitments and Rahane now wanted to take a break from cricket in August and September, meaning he would not be able to play for Leicestershire as per the earlier schedule.

The director of the club confirmed :-

County Cricket: Director of the club said ,”We understand Ajinkya Rahane ‘s situation very well. He has had a busy schedule recently and we acknowledge his desire to recover and spend time with his family,” the club’s director of cricket, Claude Henderson, said in a statement.

He further added, “We have been in constant touch with Ajinkya and recognize how conditions in cricket can change quickly. We are hopeful that one day he will definitely play for Leicestershire. Australia in place of Rahane K Peter Handscomb will take.”
