Team India’s chief selector: Applications were invited by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a vacant place on the selection committee of Team India. At the same time, former Indian player Ajit Agarkar has applied for this post. If reports are to be believed, Agarkar has now applied for the post after parting ways with IPL team Delhi Capitals.

Delhi Capitals confirmed that Agarkar and Shane Watson are no longer part of the support staff. The team tweeted, “This will always be home to you. Thanks, Ajit and Watto (Watson). Best wishes for the future. Agarkar has also given interviews for the post of selector in 2021 when Chetan Sharma from North Zone became the chairman of the committee.

Ajit had earlier also applied for the post of chief selector in BCCI for the year 2021. But due to non-cooperation from the Mumbai Cricket Association. He was not selected for the post. Significantly, 45-year-old Agarkar has played 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and 4 T20 matches for Team India.
