Akeal Hossein was included in the West Indies squad to replace injured Allen, as West Indies have suffered a setback to defend their T20 World Cup title. with Fabian Allen ruled out of the tournament with an ankle injury.

The Approval to replace Allen :-

The Event Technical Committee of the T20 WC has approved left-arm spinner, Hossein, to replace Allen in the 15-man squad.

Allen was a prominent part of the West Indies XI, Caribbean Premier League. The domestic season regularly played games against Australia and South Africa.

Hossein, named in reserve, has now replaced the 26-year-old bowling all-rounder in the squad.

Akeal Hossein starred in the CPL this year where he made a fatal cohabitation with S. Narine for Trinbago Knight Riders. He took 13 wickets in the competition at an excellent economy rate of 4.92.

He has played 15 times in white-ball cricket for WI. with his most recent appearance being in T20Is against Paki. in Aug this year.

With the 28-year-old now moving from reserve to the dominant squad, West Indies have named Gudkesh Motie as Aqeel Hossein’s competitor in the reserve list.

The West Indies began preparations for the T20 WC on Monday with a warm-up match against Pakistan. which they lost by seven wickets.

They will begin the tournament against England on 23 October. And on Wednesday evening. They will play a practice match against Afghanistan.

Gudkesh Motie, who captained the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL this year, remains uncapped at the international level.
