Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar wants Virat Kohli to retire from T20 International cricket. The reason for this has also been told by the former Pakistan fast bowler. He says that Virat Kohli should retire from T20I cricket because he should not put his ‘full energy’ in the shortest format.

Shoaib Akhtar said on his YouTube channel

“I think he played the biggest innings of his life against Pakistan. He played this way because he was confident that he would do it. He is back with a bang. I want him to retire from T20Is. Because I don’t want him to put all his energy into T20I cricket.”

Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as the Rawalpindi Express, on Sunday lauded Virat Kohli for his unbeaten 82 against Pakistan in a T20 World Cup match that helped India register a thrilling four-wicket win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In a way, Virat had dashed Pakistan’s pace attack.

Shoaib Akhtar said that

“He can hit three centuries in one-day cricket with the same commitment as today. In the most high-voltage match of the tournament, the Indian team was lagging behind, but Kohli was determined to single-handedly lead India to victory.” Akhtar also recalled the times when Virat Kohli had to face criticism for his prolonged poor form with the bat.
