Ambati Rayudu plans to contest Lok Sabha elections from Andhra Pradesh

Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu is planning to contest the Lok Sabha elections from either Krishna or Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. Rayudu, who had made his intentions clear to bat on the political pitch, is all set to join the YSRCP.

Ambati Rayudu met Andhra Pradesh CM and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Ambati Rayudu hails from Guntur and had met Andhra Pradesh CM and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy twice last week. Though Jagan is reportedly keen to field Rayudu in the next elections he is yet to decide whether to field him in the Assembly or Lok Sabha polls.

He added that he would abide by Jagan’s decision, “CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is a great inspiration for the youth entering politics. Instead of focusing on one area, he is leading development in all areas.

According to a Times of India report, senior party politicians have suggested that if Rayudu wants to contest the assembly elections he should choose either Ponnur or Guntur West regions. He feels Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency is his best option.

Ambati Rayudu announced his retirement from IPL this year as well

Ambati Rayudu also announced his retirement from IPL this year. In the final match of IPL 2023, against Gujarat Titans, Ambati Rayudu played a key role in making Chennai the champion for the fifth time by playing a brilliant inning of 18 runs in 8 balls with the help of 1 four and 2 sixes.
