Angelo Mathews returns home from the Windies tour

Sri Lanka Cricket announced that Angelo Mathews will return home from the West Indies tour due to a family matter

Mathews was the captain in the first T20I matches in the absence of Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lanka had played three T20 International Matches in the leadership of Mathews in the ongoing tour of West Indies, Sri Lanka lost the T20I series by 1-2

T20I captain Angelo Mathews was out of form in the series and he scored with 5, 13, and 11 only in the three matches T20I series against West Indies

Sri Lanka played an ODI match in a three-match ODI series led by Dimuth Karunaratne, but Sri Lanka lost their first ODI match and Mathews again failed to score for the team.

Mathews will no longer be on the West Indies tour with two ODIs and two Tests.

Mathews, who is currently touring the Windies with the National Cricket Team, will return home. The purpose of his return is to attend to a family matter.– Cricket Sri Lanka
