“India can always boast of good bowlers. But the workload management make sure that they were extremely fresh. At any point in time so that we could rotate as well.

Arun feels India has enough talent to be able to handle the transition phase when Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami is dropped in a year or two.

Addressing the biggest challenge he faced since coming back in 2017, Arun said the task was to build a Test team that could win in all conditions.

“Ravi and Virat got together and wanted to build a team that could win in all conditions. We had a balanced side. We had one of the best spin attacks in the world, so it was about building another force. It was something that could complement our bowling. All the conditions were met. We all came together,” he said.

On Sunday, India was knocked out of the race for the semi-finals when New Zealand beat Afghanistan by eight wickets to seal the available fourth and final berth.
