Ashes 2023: Usman Khawaja ended 8-year drought with a century, equaled Joe Root

Usman Khawaja has become the first batsman from Australia to score a century in the Ashes series 2023. In the first Test being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham, Khawaja has completed his century while batting brilliantly. The Kangaroo batsman also ended an eight-year drought of scoring a hundred in the Ashes on English soil.

Ashes 2023: Khwaja ended the drought of eight years :-

Usman Khawaja has ended an eight-year century drought on English soil in the Ashes series. Prior to Khawaja, in 2015, Chris Rogers scored a century in the Ashes for Australia. With this, Khawaja also became the second Kangaroo batsman to score a Test century at Edgbaston. Before him, this feat was done by Mark Taylor in 1997.

Ashes 2023: From the year 2022 till now, Usman Khawaja has scored 7 centuries in Test cricket. Khawaja has also equaled Joe Root’s record in this matter. Root has also scored seven centuries equal to Khawaja. At the same time, Jonny Bairstow is second in this list with six centuries.
