Asia Cup 2022: ICC’s action on Asif Ali ‘s ban demand, fined Farid Ahmed along with Asif

Asia Cup 2022, Asif Ali Ban: Pakistan’s Asif Ali and Afghanistan bowler Farid Ahmed have been fined 25 per cent of their match fees for clashing on the field during an Asia Cup Super Four stage match. Both were found guilty of a Level 1 offense of the ICC Code of Conduct.

Asif Ali Ban: Ali violated Section 2.6 of the ICC Code of Conduct :-

According to the ICC statement, Ali violated Section 2.6 of the ICC Code of Conduct which deals with obscene, offensive or derogatory gestures during an international match. At the same time, Afghanistan’s fast bowler Fareed Ahmed was given Section 2. 1. 12, which relates to improper physical contact with a player, support staff, umpire, match referee or any person.

Asia Cup 2022: Asif Ali lifted his bat to hit the Afghan bowler after being dismissed :-

In the match played in Sharjah on Wednesday, Pakistan batsman Asif Ali lifted his bat to hit Afghanistan pacer Farid Ahmed after dismissed. After taking Asif’s wicket, Farid was celebrating by coming close to him. The clash between these players also affected the fans of both the teams.

After such a violent clash, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that the board will complain to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
