Now fast bowler Hasan Mahmood and wicketkeeper Noorul Hasan Sohan have joined the veteran player.

Hasan will be unavailable for a month after suffering an ankle injury during training last week. Noorul recently had surgery for an injured finger and needs time to rest the affected area.

Naeem returns to the T20 squad:-

Naim has returned to the T20 side after playing last against Afghanistan in March. He was dropped for the subsequent T20I series against West Indies and Zimbabwe.

He has been selected in the squad after scoring runs for Bangladesh A against West Indies A. Notably, he scored 103 in the second ODI at Gros Islet a few days back.

Bangladesh, however, has not selected an additional fast bowler or wicketkeeper in their T20 squad. He will be overseen by S Sriram, who was appointed technical advisor for the T20 team a few days back.

Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in the Asia Cup after being reinstated as T20I captain earlier this month.

Shakib recently said, “I don’t have any goals:-

Asked about his team’s performance in the Asia Cup, Shakib recently said, “I don’t have any target.”

“My only goal is that we can do well in the (T20) World Cup and that is what preparations are for.

“If someone thinks that I can change things within a day or two or that someone else will come to change it, we are living in a state of fools.

“If you are able to think practically, our real development will be seeing when the team does really well in the World Cup in three months’ time.”
