Asia Cup 2023: With the July 14 deadline to announce the Asia Cup 2023 schedule having passed, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is still tight-lipped on the matter. Asia Cup schedule likely to be announced today, ACC expected to act as a mediator between BCCI vs PCB
The delay in the schedule is because the PCB wants the ACC to rework. The PCB wants more home matches during the Continental Cup as it looks like rain in Sri Lanka could play spoilsport in the month of September. Furthermore, the PCB wants a higher revenue share from the Sri Lankan leg of the games. The PCB feels that if UAE were a better co-host of the Continental Cup than Sri Lanka, they would have got more money.

The PCB wants the same share of revenue from the Lankan leg of the Continental Cup that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) got from the UAE for hosting the Asia Cup last year. The ACC will hold a two-day meeting with the BCCI and PCB in Dubai on Sunday and Monday to finalize the schedule. Pakistan was allocated to host four matches, and Sri Lanka was assigned to host nine matches including two India vs Pakistan games. However, the PCB wants a bigger revenue share during the IND vs PAK game.
Pakistan will host only Asia Cup matches
“It has already been decided that Pakistan as the host country will host only the Asia Cup matches, while the rest of the schedule will be held in Sri Lanka. What is important is how much revenue Pakistan gets for hosting the remaining matches in Sri Lanka,” a PCB source told The News, Pakistan.
