Asia Cup 2023: Schedule released, tournament to be played under the hybrid model

Asia Cup 2023: The schedule of the much-awaited tournament Asia Cup (Asia Cup 2023) was finally released on Wednesday. The tournament will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka under the hybrid model. Its first match will be played in Pakistan on 30 August. While the final match will be held in Sri Lanka on 17 September. In the tournament, the high-voltage match between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) will be played in Kandy on September 2. The complete schedule has finally been released by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). The schedule was finalized after a lot of tussle between PCB and BCCI. The first four matches of the tournament will be held in Pakistan. The last nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka.

The tournament has been given a hybrid model after the BCCI refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan. The first match will play in Pakistan on September 30 in Multan, Nepal vs Pakistan. A total of six teams will participate in the tournament. In which there will be a Super-4 stage round. All the teams are divided into two groups, each group will have three teams.

The final match will play in Colombo, Sri Lanka

The top team of both groups will get a place in the Super-4 round after each other in the group stage. There will be qualifier matches between the top four teams. After which the qualifying teams will make it to the finals. The final match will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Two groups have been kept in Asia Cup 2023, in which India, Pakistan, and Nepal are Group A teams. Whereas Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka teams are part of Group B. And after the group stage game, Super-4 teams will compete. Meanwhile, those teams which will finish in the top-2 will compete in the finals.
