Former men’s Test opener and current Australia head coach Justin Langer has been inducted into the Australian Hall of Fame along with former fast bowler and captain Raelee Thompson, who is regarded as the leader of the women’s game in the country.

Langer’s Best in Test line-Up :-

Australia saw Langer’s best order in their Test line-up, where he formed a deep partnership with Matthew Hayden in what was at the time of Australian cricket’s best years. Justin Langer’s gritty career came to his name scoring 7696 runs at an average of 45.27.

Langer made inroads into coaching after a successful stint in the domestic circuit. And he took charge of the national team in May 2018, succeeding Darren Lehmann. Which stepped down following the ball-tampering saga at Newlands.

Reached the semi-finals of the 50-over World Cup in 2019 before winning their maiden T20 World Cup in 2021. Justin also oversaw the home Ashes 4-0.

The selection committee also recognized the efforts of Royle Thompson, under whose captaincy Australia ended a 30-year hiatus to retrieve the Ashes at home in 1985, their final Test match.

After finishing her career on 57 Test wickets at 18.24 and 24 ODI scales at 18.66, Thompson served as a long-time selector while also mentoring future generations of female cricketers at the Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club.

In 2018, he was offering a lifetime membership from Cricket Victoria for all his services on behalf of the state.

“Raelee is likewise a worthy encouragement, giving her outstanding contribution to the sport at a time. Where there was little fanfare at the elite level. “Thompson is an ambassador and jewel for the women’s sport and was part of a team of guiding women. Which included four games as captain.

Who can be crediting for the success of the current Australian women’s cricket team? Raelee Thompson‘s request for excellence Greenberg said. It is inspiring to encourage women’s cricket at all levels through mentoring and governance roles.

“To this day she remains a key figure in cricket. Particularly at the Essendon Maribyrnong Park Ladies Cricket Club where she is a life member. She is highly deserving of her inclusion,” he added.
