AUS vs ENG: England’s batting in front of Mitchell Starc deadly bowling, Australia’s tremendous victory in the second ODI

Australia beat England by 72 runs in the second ODI of the three-match series (AUS vs ENG) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Batting first, the Australian team scored 280/8 in 50 overs, in reply the English team was all out for 208 in 38.5 overs. Australia’s Mitchell Starc was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.

Australia did not have a very good start after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The team got the first blow on a total score of 33 and David Warner went on to score 16 runs. After some time his partner Travis Head was also dismissed after scoring 19 runs. From here Steve Smith and Marnus Labushen batted stoutly and there was a 101-run partnership between the two.

Labushen dismissed after scoring 58 runs after completing his half-century. Alex Carey didn’t even get a chance to open the account. Smith dismissed after going close to the century and he played an innings of 94 runs. In the lower order, Mitchell Marsh scored 50 runs while showing a dashing game and played an important role in helping the team reach a good score. For England, Adil Rashid made three batsmen his victims while spending 57 runs in his spell.

Mitchell Starc showed David Malan the way to the pavilion in the first over itself

Chasing the target, England had a very poor start and the team lost two wickets for a score of zero. Jason Roy and David Malan, who scored a century in the previous match, shown the way to the pavilion by Mitchell Starc in the first over itself. Wherein Billings played an inning of 71 runs. Liam Dawson struggled for a while in the lower order but was dismissed for 20 as the last wicket. Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa took four wickets each for Australia.
