AUS vs PAK, 2nd Test: Controversy has arisen due to Mohammad Rizwan ‘s dismissal on the fourth day of Australia vs Pakistan Test. This wicket tilted the balance of the game to a great extent and helped Australia win and seal the series.

Mohammad Hafeez said after the match :-

Hafeez told reporters, “Technology, if it is giving you advantage then I am in favor of it, but if it is bringing some doubt and some curse in the game, then it should not be acceptable to anyone.”

Hafeez further said, “I think there are many areas that need to be addressed for the betterment of cricket, where technology is taking away the trend of the game.”

Chasing 318, Pakistan were in a good position at 219-5 when Rizwan, batting on 35, tried to leave a short ball.

This is how Mohammad Rizwan was out :-

The ball hit the lower part of his right hand and went to wicketkeeper Alex Carey and the Australian players appealed. The on-field umpire Michael Gough did not give it out and Cummins challenged the decision and sent it up.

Third umpire Richard Illingworth referred to a spike on the ultra edge as the ball passed through Rizwan’s wristband, and Illingworth asked Gough to overturn his original decision of not out. The thing to note is that when the ball passed through Rizwan, there was no mark on the hotspot.

AUS vs PAK, 2nd Test: Rizwan was completely unhappy with this decision :-

Pakistan’s keeper-batsman was unhappy with the decision and suggested that the ball had hit his arm rather than his wrist band.

Hafeez said, “The umpire gave it not out and there was no clear, conclusive evidence to warrant overturning the decision.”
