Australia’s star batsman chose ‘next batting superstar’, surprised by not naming Shubman Gill

India’s star batsman Shubman Gill has gained worldwide popularity. The young Indian batsman is in fine form at the moment and has done exceptionally well in white-ball cricket in the last few months. Shubman Gill was rewarded for his brilliant performance by getting a chance in the third Test against Australia.

Although Gill could not show amazing in the third test with the bat, but he is being considered as the future of Indian cricket. However, when Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne was asked to name the next batting superstar, he surprised by not naming Gill.

Labushen took part in a question-and-answer session with ESPNcricinfo, in which he was asked who is the next batting superstar, Shubman Gill or Harry Brook. The Australian batsman replied, “Oh Jesus! Harry Brook. I like the way he bats. This may not be a popular answer, but…”

Let us tell you that Harry Brook has gained a lot of popularity by performing brilliantly for the England national team. However, beyond Gill, Harry Brook has shown his firepower in the red ball. Recently, Brook scored 329 runs in the two-match Test series against New Zealand. Looking at Brook’s potential, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore in the IPL.
