Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam is counted among the top batsmen of today’s era. Even though he could not perform anything special in the T20 World Cup 2022, his team made it to the finals. Babar is now leading his team in Tests. He scored a century in the first Test match of the series against England and returned to form. Babar has also made a record after this century in Rawalpindi. This year, he did that work that even veterans like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could not do together.

Babar Azam scored a brilliant century in the first Test match of the series against England (PAK vs ENG 1st Test). He played an inning of 136 runs in 168 balls. He came out to bat at number 4 and when he was out, Pakistan’s score had reached 475 runs. Pakistan scored 499 runs for seven wickets in the first innings till the end of the third day’s play. England made a huge score of 657 runs in the first innings. In this way, Pakistan’s team is still 158 runs behind. Babar scored the 8th century of his Test career.

7th century in 2022 (Babar Azam)

In the year 2022, 28-year-old Babar Azam scored his 7th century in international cricket i.e. all three formats. No batsman has scored more centuries than him this year. Babar is often compared to Virat Kohli and Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Talking about Rohit, he has not been able to score a single century this year. At the same time, Virat Kohli scored a century which he scored in the T20 format against Afghanistan in Asia Cup. In this way, Babar is far ahead of these two legends of India in terms of centuries. England’s Johnny Bairstow is second with a total of 6 centuries, while Pakistan’s Imam-ul-Haq and Joe Root are joint third with 5-5 centuries.

More than 3200 runs in the test

Babar Azam has so far scored 3258 runs in his Test career. He has scored 8 centuries and 23 half-centuries in 76 innings in this format. In the ODI format, he has scored a total of 4664 runs in 92 matches, while in T20 Internationals, he has scored a total of 3355 runs in 99 matches at a strike rate of 127.8.
