T20 World Cup 2021: Pakistan Captain Babar Azam made a humble request to his teammates in the dressing room after their historic 10-wicket win over India in Dubai.

After thrashing India by 10 wickets in their opening match of the T20 World Cup in Dubai on Sunday. Pakistan captain Babar made a humble request to his teammates not to get “overjoyed” with the win. Babar said after their massive win over India that “this is just the beginning” and asked the team to focus on the upcoming crucial encounters of the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) tweeted a video of Babar addressing his teammates and captioned it, “Captain & Head Coach addresses players after Pakistan’s historic win over India. #WeHaveWeWill.”

Azam, Don’t get too excited

“Look guys, this win was not the result of any individual performance. We gave the performance of the whole team and we don’t want to give it up. It’s just the beginning, enjoy it, but don’t get too excited to beat India. We need to look ahead. And our focus should be on winning the T20 World Cup. We will never rest, just try to give your 100 percent. Please, don’t get too excited,” he said.

“We have to change our habit of being over-excited after games like these, I can see in each of you that this habit will change. We have to do this, no one else will come and do it for us. So, Very well done,” he said.
