Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) MLA S P Venkateswara on Tuesday demanded the Tamil Nadu government to ban the Chennai Super Kings team as the team does not have any player from the state. The senior PMK leader told the assembly that Tamil Nadu has many talented players but the CSK franchise has not retained a single player in its 27-member squad.

Speaking further, MLA SP Venkateswara said that CSK is earning huge revenue by using Tamil Nadu name, but it has sidelined Tamil Nadu players. PMK is known for raising issues related to Tamils and Venkateswaran’s latest statement is based on concern that no player from Tamil Nadu is in the CSK squad.

Won the Title Four Times

Chennai Super Kings has won the IPL trophy four times under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. CSK has won the IPL trophy in the year 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. The CSK team has always been known for backing its players. In the years 2016 and 2017, the CSK team banned from playing in the IPL, but then the team returned in the year 2018 and won the title.
