Dhaka, Feb 9 (PTI) Former South African cricketer Ashwell Prince has stepped down as Bangladesh’s batting coach with immediate effect. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) gave this information on Wednesday.

Ashwell Prince (44) was associated with Bangladesh team for the Zimbabwe series last year and his contract was later extended till this year’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

As such, he will not go on Bangladesh’s upcoming tour of South Africa.
BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said, “He (Ashwell Prince) has resigned and we have received his resignation. ,

Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will miss the two-Test series to be in March-April but will play in the three-match ODI series before that.
BCB’s Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus said, “Shakib will definitely play in the ODI series against South Africa, although he has not said anything about his availability for the Test matches. But he has revealed that he will be available for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. ,
