Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from Test cricket, Bangladesh Cricket Board endorsed on Wednesday (November 24).

The Return to Test format in Zimbabwe :-

Mahmudullah, who returned to the Test format in Zimbabwe earlier this year, had already signaled to his teammates. That he would end his career in the longest format. After his career-best 150* against the African nation in Bangladesh’s 220. won’t increase victory.

“I have always thought about going to the top. And I believe this is the right time to end my Test career. I would like to express the responsibility of the BCB President to approve me when I return to the Test team.

I thank my teammates and the support staff for always motivating me and believing in my ability. It is an absolute honor and privilege to play Test cricket for Bangladesh and I will cherish many memories.

“Even though I am retiring from Tests, I will continue to play ODIs and T20 Internationals and really do my best for my country in white-ball cricket.”

In Test cricket in the West Indies in 2009, Mahmudullah. who arrived in the West Indies, scored nearly 3000 runs at an average of 33.49, including five centuries. He has also taken five wickets in Test cricket with 43 wickets.

A Unavailable for Bangladesh Cricket League :-

Meanwhile, Cricbuzz has learned that Mahmudullah has dropped him from the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket League. The country’s only franchise-based first-class regional competition to be played from 10 December.

Mahmudullah’s name was included in the draft player subject to receipt, but he was later withdrawn from the tournament in addition to receipt as he would not be part of the Test squad that would travel to New Zealand to play a two-match Test series when The tournament will be played by four teams.
