BCB Appoints Jamie Siddons as Batting Consultant

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has brought back former Australia batsman Jamie Siddons to Bangladesh cricket, this time as a batting consultant – after ten years of serving as the senior men’s team head coach from 2007 to 2011.

It is not clear which part he will be in the system when he takes up his role early next year.

“We have appointed him as a batting consultant,” BCB president Nazmul Hasan said after the board meeting in Dhaka on Friday.

“It is not yet deciding in which place he will serve, whether it is the high performance, under-19 or senior team. We expect him to join in February 2022.”

BAN Women Cricketers Get Salary Hike :-

The BCB has increased the salaries of stipulated women cricketers by “about 33%” for the calendar year 2022. This growth was due to his good performance on the recent tour of Zimbabwe and his ability to qualify for the 2022 ODI World Cup.

According to BCB President Najmul Hassan. The salary structure of women players will be dividing into two or three categories according to the perception, performance, and quality of each player.

Former South Africa captain Ashwell Prince is currently the batting coach of the senior team. He will be tying up until the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Having beaten Siddons to the position earlier this year.

Jamie Siddons was the head coach of Bangladesh from October 2007 to April 2011. He is best knowning for brought a civilization of professionalism to the team and developing Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal as batsmen in particular.
