BCCI, Red Ball Cricket: In view of the recent trend of players ignoring red ball cricket to save themselves for the Indian Premier League (IPL), BCCI is now considering taking a big step to save Test cricket.

BCCI is now considering increase in match fees for Tests :-

In fact, BCCI, the world’s richest cricket board, is now considering increasing the match fees for Tests as well as imposing some premium.

Also, it has been learned from some sources that the board has taken this decision due to wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan ignoring the call of the team management to play domestic cricket and instead choosing to prepare for the IPL starting next month. . Keeping this in mind, the board is considering redrafting the salary structure.

Describing the new model, a source in the board said :-

Explaining the new model, a board source said, “For example, if someone plays all the Test series in a calendar year, he should be given extra rewards in addition to the annual retainer contract. “What needs to be done is that more and more players should come to play red ball cricket. This will be an extra advantage to play Test cricket.”

This model can be implemented after IPL season :-

Let us tell you that if the new remuneration model is approved, it will be implemented after this IPL season. BCCI is working on the additional bonus that a player will get if he plays all the Test series in a season. Currently BCCI pays players Rs 15 lakh as fees per Test match, Rs 6 lakh per ODI and Rs 3 lakh for T20I.
