The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to start the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 2, 2022. The fixtures have not been finalized, but the BCCI has told major groups internally that April 2, in all likelihood, is the date, and Chennai will, of course, be the venue.
In the 15th edition of the league :-
Competition of 60 games and eight teams so far, the 15th edition of the league will have 10 teams and a total of 74 games, and the BCCI has internally discussed that the length of the season will exceed 60 days.

The last, thus, may take place in the first weekend of June, which may be either on 4th or 5th June. Each team will have 14 league games, with seven home and away games each being retained.
Since Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions, Chepauk would be the obvious choice for the relegation game, but there is no instinctive decision as to whether their opponents will be Mumbai Indians again, which has been the case for most of the time.
A Commencement of return to India :-
BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the full return of the IPL to India at the time of his recent speech in Chennai, where CSK celebrated their fourth IPL win.
“I know you all are waiting to see CSK play in Chepauk. Well, that moment is not too far. The 15th season of IPL will be in India. And with two new teams joining it is already would be far more exciting.

We are going to have a big auction. So it will be interesting to see what the new combinations look like.” the BCCI secretary said at the event. The full 2020 season and the 2021 half-season were staged in the UAE.
BCCI likely to start IPL 2022 in Chennai on 2 April

Meanwhile, it is learned that the Indian team will be leaving for South Africa on 8 December. The team will fly from Mumbai. Where India will play their second and final Test against New Zealand from December 3 to 7. The tour consists of three Tests. , as many ODIs and four Twenty20 Internationals.
