BCCI looking for new sponsor, banned these brands for bidding

BCCI banned these brands: The BCCI has invited bids to be the main sponsor of the Indian team, but certain companies have been barred from bidding as per pre-determined criteria.

The previous sponsor was BYJU’S :-

Byju’s, the previous sponsor, parted ways with the BCCI at the end of the last financial year. Byju’s, which cut down on its branding, had signed a $35 million deal to have its logo on the front of the Indian men’s team jersey.

According to a statement released on BCCI TV, the board has invited bids from reputed companies to be the main sponsor. The documents for bidding can be obtained by paying Rs 5 lakh and this amount is non-refundable. The last date to buy it is June 26.

It may be noted that the BCCI has also shared separate payment details for Indian and foreign bodies. However, not all organizations that meet the financial criteria can apply for title sponsorship of the Indian cricket team even if they wish to. BCCI shared a list of brand categories that have been banned from applying for title sponsorship of Indian cricket teams.

  • Real money gaming (excluding fantasy sports gaming)
  • tobacco brand
  • athleisure
