BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Agreed to Play T20Is

BCCI secretary Jay Shah said that India have agreed to play two additional T20 matches against England. So that the ECB can compensate for the loss caused by the cancellation of the Old Trafford Test. With the condition that there should be no demand for confiscation.

BCCI has Made an offer to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to Play Two Additional T20Is:

The BCCI has confirmed that they have made an offer to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). To play two additional T20Is. Whether the two sides decided to settle for an amicable solution over the impasse. That resulted in the cancellation of the Manchester Test.

“It is fitting that we have offered to play two additional T20Is (only for white-ball games) when we tour England next July. Instead of three T20Is, we will play five T20Is. Alternately From now on, we will be keen to play one-off Test as well. It is up to them to choose one of the offers,” Shah told on Monday (September 13).

The Test in Manchester was canceled after Virat Kohli & Co expressed apprehensions over playing, following Covid-19 positive cases in the Indian camp.

The Daily Mail in the UK on Monday Explained the BCCI’s Offer:

“However, the proposal – which is designed to help alleviate a potential shortfall of £40 million in English cricket’s already stretched budget. Will instead, as well as not, reschedule Tests. The offer still stands.” Shah confirmed this.

Jay Shah Said that the ECB was Unaware of Reports of Knocking on the Doors of the ICC’s Disputes Resolution Committee (DRC):

The BCCI secretary also said that the ECB was unaware of reports of the ICC’s. Disputes Resolution Committee (DRC) knocking on the door. In which there was a demand to forfeit the canceled test. But Shah made it clear that additional matches will be played only if there is no such demand.

Meanwhile Jay Shah denied knowledge of any move to split the international captaincy between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Shah agreed with his colleague Arun Singh Dhumal’s comments, saying that “there is no such proposal. And Virat is leading the team. And we are supporting him.” The BCCI treasurer told that “we are sensitive to the fact that such a proposal is not in the interest of the Indian team. When it will participate in the World Cup.”
