However, now Charlotte Edwards has joined the race to take over from caretaker head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar.

However, this could not happen due to the Proteas coach being busy with IPL and other league appointments. While the search for a big international name is always on top of the checklist, the BCCI continues its search for a desirable name.
