Ben Stokes played the biggest innings for England in ODI :-

In the match against New Zealand, he scored 182 runs in 124 balls, which included 15 fours and nine sixes. However, Stokes missed out on scoring a double century. He was out in the 45th over of England’s innings. Ben Lister got him caught by Will Young. Stokes had a great opportunity to score a double century, but he lost his wicket while trying to play a big shot.

Before Stokes, Jason Roy had played the biggest innings for England in ODIs. Roy had scored 180 runs in 151 balls against Australia in 2018. His innings included 16 fours and five sixes.

Ben Stokes made a comeback after 14 months :-

Ben Stokes has returned to ODI cricket after almost 14 months. To manage his workload, he had announced his retirement from ODI cricket last year. He is the captain of the England team in Test and also plays T20 cricket. However, on the insistence of England coach Brendon McCullum and ODI captain Jos Buttler, Stokes returned to ODI cricket through the series against New Zealand.

Stokes is looking different after his retirement :-

Stokes scored 52 runs in his first innings after returning to ODI cricket. Now he has played a brilliant inning of 182 runs in this series. When he came to bat, England’s score was 13/2. From here, he made a 199-run partnership with David Malan to bring his team back into the match and when he was out, England’s score was 348/6. On the basis of Stokes’ century, England scored 368 runs in this match. However, the England team could not play the full 50 overs and the English team’s innings ended with 11 balls remaining.
