New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson will have to undergo back surgery. His injury has resurfaced, due to which he is away from cricket for more than 9 months.

Now he will not be able to play even in IPL 2023. Kyle Jamieson was expected to make a comeback in the current two-Test series against England, having played the last Test in June 2022.

However, considering the re-emergence of the injury and surgery, the 28-year-old fast bowler will have to wait a little longer to regain full fitness. This fast bowler played a practice match for New Zealand XI against the visiting team of England this month.

Jamieson had earlier expressed hope that his injury would heal with rest, but he was forced to opt for surgery after it recovered.

Stead said, ‘Many world-class players have had back surgery and it takes different times to recover from it. We want to give Kyle the best chance to recover because we know what a wonderful player he is for us.

Kyle Jamieson was bought by Chennai Super Kings for 1 crore for the IPL season starting 31 March. Jameson has taken 9 wickets in 9 matches of IPL so far. He played all these matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2021 season.
