Thrilling Competition was seen in SA20

The SA20 saw another thrilling match as Joburg Super Kings climbed to the top of the table with a last-ball win against Sunrisers Eastern Cape at St George’s Park. It was the home team, who entered the tie on the back of three consecutive wins, but instead it was the Super Kings who finally struck form.

Amazing fight in the last over

Sunrisers fast bowler Sisanda Magala turned from hero to villain in a matter of seconds. Magala was tasked with defending 8 runs in the final over. Performing brilliantly in his first four balls, he allowed the Super Kings to score just three runs. With this, the Super Kings needed five runs from the last two balls. Unfortunately for Magala, Lewis du Ploy hit his fifth ball for a boundary to level the score. Magala over-stepped the next ball and the delivery was adjudged a no-ball, giving the Super Kings the win with one ball to spare.

There was little Support apart from Faf du Plessis’ 37 when he took Charge of RCB in the IPL

Du Ploy remained unbeaten on 47 off 40 balls, helping the Super Kings cross Sunrisers’ score of 127. The left-handed batsman had little support apart from 37 runs from Faf du Plessis, the captain and captain of RCB in the IPL. However, the victory was set up by an impressive Super Kings bowling unit that has superior spin and pace.

Left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso won the Player of the Match award with 4/20. He was allowed to bowl earlier this week after being reported for a suspected illegal bowling action.
