Billy Stanlake in the Hobart Hurricanes will be part of their line-up for the BBL, The Hobart Hurricanes are pleased to announce that after negotiating a release from his contract with the Melbourne Stars.

Capable of bowling close to 150k/ph, Stanlake has 47 BBL wickets to his name at an average of 29.89 and an economy of 8.07.
Stanlake has also donated the green and gold 19 times in the T20I format, including a total of 27 wickets and best figures of 4-8 at an impressive average of 20.14, where he broke Pakistan’s top order in Zimbabwe.
Stanlake, who had a year left on his current deal with the Stars, said he was excited to be heading for the storm.
“This season I made one of the biggest decisions of my career so far by changing the states and where I train and play for most of the year.
So for me, it makes the most sense to go all in, and the base where I play all my cricket in one place.
“I’ve been dealing with injury problems for the last 18 months but I’m really happy with how things are progressing and the return to bowling plan we’re working on down here.
So in order to be the best I can be a player for whatever team I’m committed to, I think that’s the best option for everyone involved.
Stanlake said recent personnel announcements made in the storm helped with the decision.
“It’s no secret that any project Ricky Ponting puts his hand into is a success. So it’s hard not to get involved.
Also [Jeff] Vaughn as the head coach of both programs — a known amount of, you know, a brilliant person and a really great public manager, if you want — is really reassuring.
“Add on top of a fast bowling group that includes Riley Meredith, Nathan Ellis, and Joel Paris – well. That’s pretty tempting.”
Stanlake added, “I’m really thankful to both clubs for doing this.” “With my injuries, my time with the stars certainly didn’t turn out the way we both wanted. But I still learned a lot from being in their environment, which I’m grateful for.”
