Australian fast bowler Brett Lee wants India coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma to protect left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh from excessive advice as it can prove “counter-productive”. Since making his international debut in July this year, Arshdeep has been one of the star performers with the ball for India, cementing his place in the T20 squad, and making his ODI debut on the tour of New Zealand. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep took advantage of the opportunity and took 33 wickets in 23 T20 matches.

On his YouTube channel, Brett Lee said –

“A lot of times teams don’t know what to do with these young and breakout stars. We have seen it before when young players join and take advice from players, TV, commentators in hotels. Every man means Is good but too often, too much advice can be counter-productive. So, I think it is the responsibility of Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma to save Arshdeep Singh from this overdose of advice.” Brett Lee gives Arshdeep Singh some tips to stay injury free.

“As someone who has played a few matches, I believe I am qualified enough to give my views to him. I have a few little things that I think can help Arshdeep with his action and get more wickets.”

Brett Lee said –

“My first piece of advice to Arshdeep would be that people often say that a fast bowler should go to the gym and bulk up. We hear that they want him to be big, strong. Now the strong can be strong in mind. I would say don’t do too much gym.”

Brett Lee further said – “Lightweight, high repetitions, don’t worry about the beach muscles, if you want to do that, it won’t help you bowl fast.”

Arshdeep was badly trolled on social media after he dropped a simple catch off Pakistan batsman Asif Ali during the Super 4 match of the last Asia Cup. Lee advises youth to avoid getting distracted by social media posts.
