Captain Kieron Pollard returns to the squad for Ireland, England tour

West Indies limited-overs captain Kieron Pollard has returned to the squad for the limited-overs series against Ireland and England.

The Caribbean outfit will host Ireland for three ODIs and one T20I before the five-match T20I series against England. The nine matches will take place between January 8 and 30.

West Indies are schedule to play Ireland in three one-day internationals starting on Jan. 8 in Jamaica and a one-off Twenty20 match on Jan. 16 before traveling to Barbados to face England in five T20 matches from Jan. 22-30.

Pollard was ruled out of the Pakistan tour-

Pollard was ruled out of the Pakistan tour due to a hamstring injury. He has now recovered from injury and will be fit to face Ireland and England. In his absence, Nicholas Pooran led the team in the T20I against Pakistan, while Shai Hope was drafted to lead the team in ODIs before it was postponed due to COVID.

On the selection, head coach Phil Simmons said: “We have tried to maintain the normal makeup of the team from the tour of Pakistan before Christmas, with the captain and some senior players coming back. COVID-19 has also played a part. In the final make-up of the team. Over the next few months, the young players in both teams are facing challenges not only to improve their skills but also to maintain the attitude and desire that we have seen in Pakistan.
