The Iceland Cricket Association has once again mocked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over hosting the Champions Trophy 2025 event. Pakistan was the winner of the Champions Trophy 2017. So the question remains whether the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in a hybrid model like the Asia Cup or it will be moved out of Pakistan completely.

Will the hosting of the Champions Trophy be snatched away from Pakistan?

The Champions Trophy will be played between February – March 2025. A total of 8 teams will participate in it. The top 8 teams in the World Cup 2023 points table have qualified for this tournament. The biggest question is regarding its venue. It has to be held in Pakistan but India’s stand is clear that it does not want to go to Pakistan for the tournament. This year the Asia Cup was also played in a hybrid model for the same reason. Only a few matches were played in Pakistan, the playoff and final matches were played in Sri Lanka.
