New Zealand rising star Devon Conway and England spinner Sophie Ecclestone named ICC player of the month for June 2021
The left-handed Conway became the first New Zealand player to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award after a surprising first month in Test cricket, hitting a solid double century on his debut and two half-centuries against England at Lord’s in his next two matches and including the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final.

I am really honored to have won this award. I got it for my performance in Test cricket, which makes it even more special.
“Scoring a double century at Lord’s was a dream come true for me and being able to contribute to their victory over India in the ICC World Test Championship final is something I know I will look forward to proudly in the years to come.
Another New Zealand Cricketer Kyle Jamieson, who was the Player of the Match in the WTC Final against India and Quinton de Kock of South Africa were also nominated for ICC Player of the Month of June 2021, but Devon Conway won the award.

Sophie Ecclestone said
“It’s really nice to win this award. It’s after a period in which we’ve played all three formats, so it feels good to be recognized for my performances in Tests and white-ball series.
“We are happy as a team with how we have performed in this series. We would have loved to win Test matches but hopefully, we can win multi-format series.
