Cricket fans must brace themselves as the 2021 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 is all set to begin on Wednesday (August 26). A total of 32 matches will be played in the tournament, with the last match on September 15. The last season of the CPL has seen some fascinating fighting at 22 yards. In which T20 stars from different parts are doing their business.
Expectations from the upcoming tournament are not low as all the sides are associated with prominent names. Like the previous edition, this season six teams namely Guyana Amazon Warriors, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, St. Lucia Kings, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallawahs will participate. Defending champion Trinbago Knight Riders are the most successful team in CPL history. Who has won the title four times.
Apart from him, Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Royals have won the title twice. Hence, the trophy for the three teams is still elusive and it is going to be interesting to see how the competition progresses. Notably, the tournament assumes even greater significance with the high-voltage T20 World Cup 2021 less than a few months away.
